Digital marketing sucks. It's complicated. It's constantly changing. But it's entirely necessary!
As a business owner, you have a billion things to worry about: finances, events/products, staffing, troubleshooting, etc. But marketing is the thing that makes all the effort turn into MONEY!
If you're feeling overwhelmed, you're not alone. Countless business owners are struggling to make sense of the complicated and ever-changing landscape of digital marketing.
This book will help you build a strong foundation for your online presence, so that you can confidently tackle digital marketing head-on, even when things get tough.
You'll be able to establish a clear plan and stick to it, regardless of what new trends come along!
Here is the part nobody selling you marketing wants to say out loud: this industry is unregulated. Nobody is policing it. It is not hard to build a website, call yourself a professional, and start charging for it. If you have been burned before, you were not being stupid. You were being sold to by someone with no obligation to be good at their job.
This book is the version of the conversation I have been having with owners for years, written down so you can have it without paying anyone. Including me.

Not A Textbook
Every chapter starts with something that actually happened to me, and then turns into the thing you should go fix.
Losing my truck keys becomes a chapter about account access. Meeting my wife becomes a chapter about weak calls to action. A gold minivan becomes a chapter about your database. That is not a gimmick. It is just how I remember things, and it turns out you remember them that way too.
The chapters are short. The sub-headings are in plain English. There are no frameworks with names, no pyramids, no maturity models, and no exercises you are supposed to photocopy.
I also tell you where we have screwed up. We have lost people in onboarding because something fell through the cracks. I still sign things I should not sign sometimes. Why? What is wrong with me?
I left all of that in on purpose. A marketing book written by someone who has it all figured out is a marketing book written by someone who is lying to you.
Read it in a weekend. Fix one thing on Monday.
That is genuinely the whole ambition. If you fix one thing, the $4.99 was the best marketing money you spent this year.
